Marathon Poem –

I used to love acrostic poems and still do so here’s my attempt

MARATHON TRAINING by CotswoldClaire aged 35 and a bit

Many a day I ask myself why?
Always a race or run on my mind
Raising money, is part of the plan so dig deep, and give if you can
Aches and pains, pains and aches
Toenails are awful no sandals for me
Hours of running in open country
Off, this is the day my treat each week!
Never lose focus I have a goal to meet

Tired all the time and hungry too
Running in all weathers, sun, rain or snow
Always running fast but always feeling slow
Insomnia before races and the long run as well
Niggles in the knees but when they do I rarely tell
Its great fun and easy really
No really it is, its bloody hard work who am I trying to kid
Got to go now and get my work done because when I’m finished I’m off for a run
